Ten years ago, I moved from South Africa to the UK with my two daughters to begin a new chapter in our lives.

For much of that time, life was busy — building a new home, working and, most importantly, raising my daughters. Art had always been a passion of mine, but like many things, it was something I kept putting aside for another day.

Now that my daughters are grown and life has finally slowed down a little, I've found my way back to that creative side of myself.

What started simply as time to paint and create has grown into Maison M Store and a collection of original artwork that I'm incredibly proud to put my name to.

Every piece I create begins with a feeling — the way bare branches reach across a winter sky, the way light catches the surface of still water, or the way texture can transform a simple canvas.

I work primarily with acrylics, building layers with modelling paste, metallic finishes and gold leaf to give each piece depth, movement and a tactile quality.

My work is abstract and nature-inspired, with a palette rooted in warm neutrals, soft greys and touches of gold. Trees and natural forms appear throughout my work — symbols of strength, change and quiet endurance.

Each piece is created by hand and is completely original.

I believe original art should feel personal. It doesn't have to be intimidating or reserved for galleries and collectors — sometimes it's simply about finding a piece that speaks to you and feels right in your home.

Seeing my work find its place in other people's homes is still one of the most rewarding parts of creating it.
